Living in New York City, I’ve developed a strong interest in equities markets. In October of 2008, while the American financial system balanced on the brink of complete implosion, I invested my first small sum of money in the knocked down financials (AIG, FNM, FRE). Six months, and a few painful lessons later, I pulled out about even and began investing in other markets.
It has been a blast.
The stock market is both cold and technical, while at the same time heartpounding, emotional, and dramatic. To relay a bit of my experience for others considering investing, as well as just posting crazy “quirks” of the system that I observe, I created 50centinvestor.
